Ford Dealership Hillington Park, Glasgow
TrustFord, the largest Ford-dedicated dealer group, has recently opened a vast new dealership in Hillington Park, Glasgow. The 1.5-hectare site has been transformed into a modern, energy-efficient showroom and service facility.
BMES was appointed by the Main Contractor, Muir Construction, to complete the full Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) installation for this state-of-the-art automotive dealership.
BMES’s scope of work included installing switchgear, containment, floor boxes, small power systems, streetlighting, photovoltaic (PV) systems, lightning protection, underfloor heating, air-source heat pumps, heating pipework and the domestic water supply to the press unit. Additionally, mechanical controls and trace heating were installed to accommodate future use.
Barry Munnoch, Managing Director at BMES, expressed his satisfaction with the project. “In particular, I was pleased with the successful integration of energy efficiency measures throughout the building. The M&E services were completed on time and within budget, ensuring the facility was ready for its future fit-out.”
This dealership is one of the first automotive developments in Scotland to achieve a BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) ‘Excellent’ sustainability standard. The high environmental specifications were met through the installation of air-source heat pumps to reduce emissions and solar PV panels to generate electricity, reflecting the project’s commitment to sustainability.
