Ian MacLeod Distillers, Peter Russell House
Ian Macleod Distillers has a stunning new headquarters in Broxburn, near to its bottling facility. Peter Russell House in East Mains Industrial Estate is the stylish, whisky inspired new head office base for the prestigious drinks company and its brands such as Edinburgh Gin and Rosebank Whisky.
BMES provided Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Services for contractor Clark Contracts during the build. We were responsible for the supply, installation, testing, balancing, commissioning and setting to work the complete mechanical installation to the standards and regulations specified. Mechanical services included external incoming utilities, natural gas distribution, central boiler plant, heating distribution, underfloor heating systems, natural and mechanical ventilation systems and a server room cooling system.
The building, which includes office space and a bar area, is subject to Section 6 energy regulation, requiring a BRUKL document demonstrating the building complies with the rigorous Scottish energy-efficiency criteria. As experts in this field, we ensured electrical services met or exceeded requirements with a variety of methods such as low-zero carbon technologies and low-energy LED lighting.
“During the project, we took care of all planning and management necessary to ensure a logical, efficient and satisfactory execution of the works,” explained Barry Munnoch, Managing Director at BMES. “The final building is not just practical, energy-efficient and fit for purpose – it’s visually stunning and provides a fitting home for this prestigious drinks brand.”
