John Dewar & Sons, Poniel

Oct 13, 2025

BMES recently completed the Electrical installation for Warehouses 24, 26 and 28 at the John Dewar & Sons Poniel site, working in close collaboration with Blyth & Blyth to deliver this high-specification project.

The scope of works included the full Electrical installation across the three warehouses and associated external switch rooms. BMES installed new switchgear, containment systems, small power, general and emergency lighting, fire alarms, lightning protection and data infrastructure. All warehouse lighting was ATEX-rated to meet the safety requirements of the environment.

Warehouses 24 and 26 each contained four cells, while Warehouse 28 comprised five, with each cell served by its own external switch room – totalling thirteen switch rooms across the development. The primary electrical supplies for the project were fed from the existing switch room in Warehouse 25.

BMES worked collaboratively with Blyth & Blyth throughout the project to manage technical and logistical challenges, ensuring the installation was delivered to a high standard and in line with programme requirements.

The project was completed on time and in accordance with all relevant safety and quality standards, supporting the continued operation and expansion of the Poniel facility.
