This esteemed competition showcases the very best young talent in the industry, and we are incredibly proud to see Rishabh’s hard work and dedication recognized in this way.
Rishabh, who trains under the Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust (SECTT), was nominated for the competition by his college instructor. He has successfully registered for the event and will compete in the Entry Stage at Edinburgh College’s Sighthill Campus this June.

WorldSkills UK is a prestigious event designed to inspire and upskill the next generation of professionals across a range of trades and technical disciplines. The competition provides apprentices and students with the opportunity to demonstrate their expertise, problem-solving skills, and commitment to excellence on a national platform.

Ritchie Scott, a Senior Electrical Supervisor at BMES, has been honoured with a Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality (SHEQ) award from Muir Construction. He received the accolade in recognition of his outstanding contributions to safety and quality on the Bristow Hangar Project.

Working closely with Muir Construction on the project, Ritchie was instrumental in maintaining a high standard of workplace safety and environmental compliance. His meticulous attention to detail and commitment to the health and well-being of his team were key factors in earning this prestigious award.

BMES praised Ritchie’s dedication, emphasising that his leadership in upholding SHEQ standards has set an example for colleagues across the project. The Bristow Hangar, a critical infrastructure initiative, benefited greatly from his expertise, ensuring that the project progressed efficiently while prioritising worker safety and environmental stewardship.

As the first trade association in the world for the electrical sector, SELECT represents over 1,250 member businesses and is a key voice in the Scottish construction industry.
